Second Chance
Second Chance Charity Shop is located on Main Street next to Shap Chippy. It is run entirely by volunteers and raises funds to be distributed as grants to community groups in Shap.
Donate goods to us
We welcome donations any time of the following items;
- Clothes
- Shoes, hats and other accessories
- CDs, DVDs and books
- Bric-a-brac, crockery and other general household items
- Jewelery
- Childrens clothes, books and toys
- Other saleable items
- Small working electrical items
Please do not donate damaged or broken items. We do not have to the facility to fix things and have to pay to dispose of anything we cannot sell.
We are unable to accept safety equipment including large items of funiture, child's car seats, pillow or duvets.
If in doubt about whether we will be able to use a particular item please give us a call or pop in and ask one of the volunteers.
Opening Hours
10am to 4pm Tuesday to Friday
10am to 1pm on Saturdays.

Second Chance relies on a group of friendly and dedicated volunteers, but we are always in need of an extra pair of hands. Please pop into the shop to talk about volunteering or download an application form below. Send completed volunteer applications in an envelope to the shop FAO Derrick Newsome.

- Sorting stock
- Working on the tills
- Window dressing
- Online sales
- Shop maintainence
